PROJECT SPOTLIGHTS
Three initiatives. One mission.
Sunbird highlights Palestinian-led organizations already creating impact. Each plays a distinct role, and together they represent the kind of community-driven change we exist to support.
Youth development initiatives
PALESTINIAN YOUTH EMPOWERMENT AND LEADERSHIP
We support youth-led efforts to build a more democratic, engaged society in the West Bank and Gaza, including leadership incubators, ambassador programs, and public policy training that equip young Palestinians with the tools to participate actively in civic life.
These programs have helped build a pipeline of informed, capable young leaders who go on to engage in local elections, public service, and community leadership, committed to positive change in their communities.

Rise
CHILDREN'S EDUCATION AND PSYCHOSOCIAL SUPPORT
Rise Alliance for Children runs trauma-informed, play-based learning programmes for Palestinian children in crisis. Their Palestine Initiative currently operates in Cairo, Egypt, where tens of thousands of Gazan families have taken refuge, largely without access to government education or health services. Each day, more than 100 children benefit from structured play, peer connection, and psychosocial support designed to help them heal and continue learning amid displacement.
Rise's approach is grounded in evidence: trauma disrupts development, and safe, nurturing environments can mitigate its effects. By creating learning spaces staffed by trained caregivers and stocked with culturally appropriate materials, Rise ensures that displacement does not permanently interrupt
FOCUS AREA
Trauma-informed education, psychosocial support, early childhood development

Play-Based Learning · Caregiver Training · Rise Learning Spaces
